Joy; is turning 40 last year and looking back at everyone and everything who has touched my life and knowing that there are many more years ahead of me to be able to be a positive, friend to others in my life as much as they have been to me. joy; I am thankful for the men and women who have sacrificed there lives and fought for our country so that I may be free and live such a wonderful, beautiful life. I know JOY every day I wake up. I know Joy every night when I go to sleep. Everytime I get to see my grandson (Running Cloud - Breath of God) I know what JOY looks like. I have struggled with many adversities including cancer, twice, and struggled with my only child (Crazy Fish - Son Who Does Not Listen), who would have become another statistic but for grace. I experience joy by enjoying the detail of the beautiful flowers in my yard through the lens of my camera. I then use the photos I take to make cards and calendars for my friends.

I get joy by singing at the top of my lungs, often out of key, to LeeAnn Womak's song, I hope you dance. She says, when you have a chance to sit it out or dance, dance. My family and friends have caught me doing this, but love me anyway! My friend and mentor, SuEllen, calls it dance therapy. It is good for the soul to sing and praise. May you too find joy and inspiration through music and dance. MM

I get joy watching the birds at my bird feeder. They just go about their business eating, fighting, taking turns, feeding each other, flying back and forth. I used to wonder what the big deal is with bird watching. Now I know. It simply makes me smile. KY

I felt JOY today as I washed the windows that stand on either side of my front door. It reminded me that the reason they were so filled with finger and nose prints is because my grandchildren stood there peeking in with eager smiles, excited about visiting Grandma! What more could anyone want? TAS

Spending time with my family, including my life partner and two beautiful daughters, brings me immense, unmitigated joy. Another joyful source for me is sitting in our gazebo on a lazy summer day and hunkering down with a good book and a nice cold glass of lemonaid! LJG, West Branch, Iowa
